Our Story

The Copper Kettle Co. has been a beloved gathering spot for locals and a sought-after destination for Smith Mountain Lake visitors since 2017.

The restaurant was founded by Mickey Martin who had a desire to create a warm and inviting space reminiscent of Grandma's kitchen. After several years at Indian Pointe Marina, The Copper Kettle moved to LakeWatch Plantation, just west of Bridgewater Plaza and convenient to both Franklin and Bedford county guests.

Head chef Sonny D (DiPaulo), previously of The Waterfront Country Club, has been here from the beginning and continues to use his diverse skills to curate a menu that marries country cooking with Italian flair. From savory beef dishes and seafood delicacies to comforting home-cooked classics, our offerings cater to diverse tastes.

Long-time restauranteur Tim Reith, who also owns the popular Mango’s Bar & Grill at Bridgewater Plaza, purchased The Copper Kettle in 2019. Reith has continued to elevate the experience for guests with exceptional hospitality and culinary expertise.

At The Copper Kettle Co., we invite you to savor not just the flavors but also the moments that make dining a cherished experience. Come join us as we craft a tale of culinary delight and community connection at Smith Mountain Lake.
